BBMP Elections - 2015 - Debate at Ward Level - North Bangalore

A lively debate was held in ward no. 8 by Namma Bengaluru Foundation on August 19 evening where all the candidates for the BBMP election from Kodigehalli ward put forth their promises.

While the JDS & Cong candidates were not present, Ashwath Narayan Gowda ( BJP) and Ex-Corporator claimed that he has ensured that 99% of the residents received Cauvery water & sanitation, up from a mere 10% five years ago. Gowda also said he had ensured garbage clearance & relaying of drains to decrease flooding at several low-lying areas.

He emphasised that his priority would be to re-do the whole drain network , place public taps at heavily populated areas, segregate waste at the ward level itself. Bowing to residents demands, he also said he was open to constituting a ward level committee.

Prashanth ( Pyramid party of India) emphasised on self -sustainment of the ward on all fronts from garbage to water to electricity. He said adequate use of technology would help the ward prosper.

Ashwath Narayan ( Independent), spoke on garbage clearance, sanitation and sewarage being his priority. he also said he will ensure adequate street lighting, if elected.

Velladurai  and Sharath Chandra ( both Independents ) spoke with some passion. While Velladurai spoke of relaying roads, santitation & sewage. He said installation of solar-powered street lights will increase womens' safety, Sharath Chandra stressed on ward committee formation, accessibility to reach him, better roads and transparency.
