Keep children cool and occupied this hot May month with a theatre workshop or a puppetry workshop.
Both the events are on at Jus’ Trufs, Jakkur, north Bangalore’s most happening event space.
Theatre workshop `Centre stage’ in English is an apt fit for children above seven. The objective of this workshop is to introduce children to theatre and to help them shed inhibitions. It will involve exercises, games and also a finale show where children will perform a fun two-minute monologue or a short play.
The monologue pieces will be practiced from day 5 of the workshop. During the ten days, participants will be introduced to scripts, characterizations, improvisations, emotions, memory, stage craft, script readings and rehearsals by the instructor Aaron J. Punnen.
The theatre workshop, costing Rs 3,500 will be held on every alternate day from May 9 till May 28 between 11:00am to 1:30pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

A puppet workshop titled KRIDA – a summer puppet theatre workshop in English is also being conducted over five days. The unique puppetry workshop will enable kids to make a hand puppet each along with a movable limb to tell a story.
In addition, they will also make Plaster-of-Paris masks to fit their faces. The masks will be painted using Chinese opera masks and Indian masks as inspiration.
The idea of this workshop is to introduce the concept of a puppet to children and how they can be used to enhance story-telling. The puppetry workshop will be conducted by artist Meera Sitaraman.
The workshop will start on May 9 and will be held everyday between 3-6 pm. Children between 8-14 can enrol at a cost of Rs 3,500 each.
