Tips to keep skin healthy during Diwali

Diwali is here and as we celebrate it, here are some tips to keep your skin glowing too.
1) Hydrate well, drink lots water and apply suitable moisturizers. With the onset of winter and the smoke and fumes of crackers, skin takes a beating.

2) After a session of bursting crackers, wash the exposed area with plain water and gentle cleansers which are ph balanced .

3) In case there is a burn, immediately apply ice or running water over the area, pat dry and apply antibiotic creams. The area may blister later which has to be left intact since the skin acts as the best biological dressing.The requirement of oral antibiotics is decided on the depth of the lesion and is best left to the judgement of a dermatologist or physician.

4) Burn scars which are not deep heal fast and further there are many therapies to prevent scaring and promote healing. For example, growth factor based creams, platelet rich plasma rejuvenation, creams which promote re-pigmentation etc.
