You don’t have to be a doctor to save one’s life!
Aster CMI Hospital Hebbal in its outreach programmes to local residents, school children and office towers have been demonstrating how to tackle emergencies using Basic Life Support techniques.
Already, many schools, apartment residents and resident welfare associations have approached the hospital through North Bangalorepost to learn more about this simple technique that can save lives in case of a cardiac seizure, stroke or accident.
On Republic Day, residents in Amruth Nagar and surrounding areas took home this message at a demonstration and health awareness camp conducted by the hospital.
Aster CMI hospital conducted an awareness on First aid and Emergencies in association with
Amurthanagara Resident Welfare Association at their community library hall and Sharada Vidyalaya.
“The audience were overwhelmed with the activity and took a pledge to manage victims during Emergency. More than 90 residents of various age groups who were interested in understating what is an emergency and how it needs to be handled were taught BLS procedures,” a hospital spokesperson said.
The program was conducted by emergency Senior Specialist, Dr Shailesh Shetty, who demonstrated on a mannequin Basic Life Support – on how to tackle emergencies and medical management.
The activity also followed a basic Health screening camp to create awareness on healthy lifestyle and its management. A Gynecological consultation and basic health checks were also conducted.
“We are very happy to associate with Aster CMI Hospital. It helped our members and their dependants ascertain their health status and learn how to treat patients in an emergency,” Devaraj Gowda, association president said.
