If you are living in an apartment complex, saving a life is just a shout
away.
Last week, residents of Purva Graces Apartments Owners' Welfare
Association, Amrutha Halli, had a chance to pay close attention as doctors from
Aster CMI Hospital, Hebbal, demonstrated several ways to save lives through
Basic Life Support techniques.
Organised in association with North Bangalore Post, north Bangalore's
only resident and community media, the demonstration was followed by an
exclusive health camp for residents.
PGAOWA secretary, Govind S. Nair said the BLS activity was an eye-opener
for their members and appreciated the doctors for having taken their time out
to visit the apartment complex in Amrutha Halli.
Aster CMI Hospital has so far organised several outreach programmes with
local residents, school children and office towers on how to tackle emergencies
such as cardiac seizure, stroke or accident using Basic Life Support
techniques.
"The audience were overwhelmed with the activity and took a pledge
to manage victims during Emergency. Residents of various age groups who were
interested in understating what is an emergency and how it needs to be handled
were taught BLS procedures,” a hospital spokesperson said.
This activity was followed by a basic Health screening camp for PGAOA
residents to create awareness on healthy lifestyle and its management.
North BangalorePost invites resident welfare associations, educational
institutions, community groups and corporates to be part of this community
