Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at Sanjaynagar

The day-long programme on Sunday consists of lots of fun for all age groups. Competitions for children have been organised along with a five-foot laddoo building programme on the day.

The celebrations will start with a pooja from 8 am onwards to the beautiful Sri Radha Mohan ji deities.

Darshan is open for all at the venue, Shiksha Sagar school, opposite Axis Bank premises.

For children, painting and fancy dress competition will be held. A written quiz on Lord Krishna and Bhagavad Gita will also test their knowledge. The fancy dress competition theme is Krishna Janmashtami. Ecstatic kirtans, japa counter, archanas along with darshan, face painting progammes will also be conducted.

The centre of attraction will be a five-foot tall laddoo as an offering to Lord Krishna. Jhulan seva will also be held on the occasion.

Devotees have been requested by the organisers to take this opportunity to write their wish and submit it at the feet of Sri Krishna. “Wishes made during such occasions are very powerful. Those submitting the wishes will also get a chance to win a secret gift from Lord Krishna,” an organiser said.

The day long celebration promises to be a time for celebration and bonding with family and friends.

Lord has to be obeyed in all respects. Anyone who wants to get rid of the material entanglement *must surrender* unto Him. This is also confirmed in Bhagavad-gita.

Unless one surrenders unto the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord, it is certain that he will be bewildered. When an intelligent man surrenders unto the lotus feet of Krishna and knows completely that *Krishna is the cause of all causes,* as confirmed in Bhagavad-gita, then only can such an intelligent man become a mahatma, or great soul. *But such a great soul is rarely seen.* Only the mahatmas can understand that the Supreme Lord is the primeval cause of all creations. He is parama or ultimate truth because all other truths are relative to Him. He is omniscient. For Him, there is no illusion. (SB1.1.1)
